The free plan, in full
A free plan you can keep using, described in the same words we would use in the invoice.
- No card is required, and none is stored. There is nothing to cancel.
- It does not expire and it does not quietly become a paid plan. There is no trial clock.
- At fifty cross-posts we stop cross-posting and tell you, in the ledger and by email. Nothing is deleted, nothing is queued up to fire later, and your own posting is untouched.
- The count resets on the first of the month. We do not sell overage.
- If you leave a paid plan your flows switch off rather than silently trimming themselves to fit, and your ledger stays exportable for thirty days.
The one thing the free plan does not do is video. Transcoding is the only part of this product with a real marginal cost — we share eight cores with other tenants and run one job at a time — so it starts on Solo. Images, alt text and threads are on every plan.

Video caps come from each platform, not from us: Bluesky 3 min · Threads 5 min · Instagram 15 min · YouTube Shorts 3 min · TikTok 10 min. Anything longer is stopped before it is uploaded, with the reason in the ledger.
Why the number is low
We are not passing anything on.
Tools in this category commonly start around thirty dollars a month. Much of that is not margin — it is a hosted media pipeline, a hosted realtime service and a per-request compute bill, arriving every month whether or not you posted.
We made a different architectural bet: one long-lived process on a machine we rent outright, doing its own transcoding and holding its own sockets. That is a harder thing to operate and a cheaper thing to run, and the price is where you see the difference.
No hosted media pipeline
Video is remuxed on our own machine with a static ffmpeg build, one job at a time. Nobody bills us per gigabyte, so nobody bills you per gigabyte.
No hosted realtime service
The ledger updates over server-sent events from the same process that does the publishing. A long-lived server can simply keep the connection open.
No serverless invoice
One process on one box, running whether or not anything is happening. Our cost does not rise when your posting does, so the price does not have to either.
Questions we would ask
The answers, without the hedging.
- Why is instant sync on the free plan?
- Bluesky and Mastodon push new posts to a socket we already hold open. Serving them costs us a fraction of a connection, so charging for it would be a decision about your wallet rather than our costs. Competitors who poll on a timer have a real cost per check, which is why they sell a shorter one.
- What counts as a cross-post?
- One post arriving at one destination. A post that goes to four platforms uses four. A post the rules engine skips uses none, and neither does a retry of a delivery that already failed — you are not charged twice for our own error.
- What happens when a platform rejects something?
- The ledger says which destination, and why, in a sentence. A rejection does not count against your month. Where a retry can help we retry with a backoff; where it cannot — a video over the platform's cap, a revoked token — we stop and say so.
- Can I change plan in the middle of a month?
- Yes, both directions, prorated. Moving down takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you do not lose days you bought.
- Do you have an annual discount?
- Twelve months for the price of ten, on every paid plan. That is the whole offer.
- Is there a refund?
- Thirty days, asked for by email, no reason needed. After that we refund the unused part of an annual term if you ask.
